As an energy healing practitioner/ facilitator and Reiki Master, I infuse Divine Universal Energy into my designs. My life’s mission is to spread positive energy, facilitate healing and inspire pure love and joy. I am a prolific and multi-faceted artist who strives to create moving works that instill peace while echoing love and beauty found in nature. I aspire to inspire before I expire!
My mosaics, paintings and sculptures hold a European influence having resided in France where I discovered my love and passion over twenty years ago when I walked into a friend’s studio and became overwhelmed with emotion and tears… “Well, my Nikki, it looks like you need to paint!” my friend exclaimed. And off I went!
I relentlessly challenge myself by consistently learning new skills to attain higher levels of expression and discovering exciting, new modalities. I recently became inspired to teach how to create emotional expressions through art. It brings me great pleasure helping others develop their own innate abilities and self-healing through the use of color and texture.
I’ve served in the local art community and also roles of Exhibition Coordinator and President of the Detroit Society of Women Painters for several years. My work has been exhibited in galleries both nationally and internationally, including a solo show at Assumption University and a two-woman show at the Downriver Council for the Arts.
It was an honor to be publicly noted by U.S. Congressman John D. Dingell for “Her fantastic work” and my paintings have been shown at the State Capitol by former State Representative Deb Kennedy who displayed one of my paintings in her Lansing, Michigan office. Currently, my work can be found at local establishments such as Southshore Dental where Dr. Patel hired me to create a mosaic above his reception desk, a large painting in the reception area and many paintings lining the hallways, as well as the Law Office of John Camilleri, my husband and biggest fan, where I created special works using his law books from his studies in college to create collages.
For five years I lived in a very remote place in the Upper Peninsula which allowed me to grow so fond of nature at a very young age. I believe my senses became heightened at this stage, (all six of them!). Then growing up on a small island in Lake Erie created a strong bond with water. Fifteen years in France brought about my creativity and love of plants, flowers, culture, the ocean, mountains, traveling and diversified views that allow me to keep an open mind. I’m very blessed to have such varied culture and amazing people in my life who have guided me along my way thus far. My studio is now attached to my home on the island of Grosse Ile in Michigan where my creativity blossoms at all hours, especially while listening to the Canadian Geese (it’s a love affair that I will most likely be painting soon!).
