Fear brought me here
Fear is an old Friend
I was smitten with my friend
But Friends come and go.
Fear talked about Love.
Said Love was an obstacle.
I bumped into Love often,
Love always seemed to Glow.
Love played a game
My kids,
The animals,
My first kiss,
The leaves
The flowers,
Mozart,
The birds,
The trees,
The lakes,
My family,
France,
The seas
The snow,
The sun,
The mountains,
The breeze
I had a choice to make
Fear became jealous, tried to control me.
Told me I was unworthy, stupid, ignorant, ugly.
I cried.
A lot.
I spent time alone and went on walks.
I talked to the pines, the geese, my dog, the rocks.
I prayed.
A lot.
I prayed for forgiveness,
for mercy,
for understanding.
A lot.
I promised that if I could meet Wisdom, I’d give Love a shot.
I heard a voice
God whispered to me through Spirit. He said,
“We are all Worthy
‘We are all Purposeful
‘We are all Learning,
‘We are all Beautiful
‘We are all Special
‘We are all Held
“We are all Cherished
‘We are all Loved”
I pondered this.
I considered this.
I began to believe this.
A lot.
Wisdom appeared, stoic, proclaimed:
Fear had it’s place,
It’s time to move on.
You’ve learned those lessons,
It’s time you show strong.
There’s a calling for you,
It’s time to Belong.
Listen to your heart,
For love has now won.
