30x40 Mixed Media This painting was first created in 2007. It was a daydreaming, blonde woman, in a red dress sitting in an ornate wrought-iron white chair amidst two plants. I named her Divine Intervention because she was the first woman I painted and I struggled so much. While she reflected me at a stage in my life, connecting my love of nature with folly, I realized she was no longer who I am today. I began covering her with strokes of color over the entire painting. I had no idea where it would go. When I was in the shower one morning, I saw exactly what to do… I went into my studio, added colors of the chakras and painted the mandala. It’s the beginning of a study about moving into consciousness and will become a series where I study different emotions and use the mandala to bring peace.
